If you are not 100% satisfied with any aspect of the work done, we will come back and re-do the work free of charge.
Our Pricing
Our pricing is affordable and comprehensive. We work at a fixed rate of £25 per hour. Our daily rate is £175 per day, per workman. Please note that some bigger jobs may require more than one workman.
Unlike many tradesmen we don’t ask for a call out charge and we don’t expect you to pay our travel expenses.
In most instances we will be able to assess what work needs to be done during a telephone consultation and will be able to quote you for the work before making an appointment. We operate on a minimum booking time of 2 hours, so it may be wise to make a list of household jobs that need completing before we arrive.
Above all, we expect our clients to be completely satisfied with our work. So if, for any reason, this is not the case, we will come back and endeavour to put things right with no extra expense to you.
We have £1m liability insurance to give our clients a greater sense of security.
Two options:
- You may decide to employ us purely as labour (which is fine)
- We are also willing to purchase any materials that may be necessary to complete the job. If you decide to take this route, we will simply charge you for the items themselves and the time it takes us to purchase them (at a rate of £25 per hour).
If you are looking to save money, it may be best to choose option 1.
Smaller items, such as filler, screws and raw plugs are always kept in our tool box, so there is no need to provide these yourself.
We accept both cash and cheques, but we ask that you present a valid guarantee card when paying by check.
For any referrals you pass our way, we will give you 5% of our earnings from the job on completion.
Any extra costs incurred, such as congestion charges or parking will be charged back to the client.
Skip Hire
Larger jobs may require a skip and it is up to you to decide whether you would like us to arrange this (at a cost of £250 per skip) or whether you are happy to dispose of any larger waste materials yourself. Please note that when hiring a skip it is necessary to obtain an agreement with your local council.
Cancellation Policy
If you wish to cancel an appointment, you are obliged to give us 24 hours notice. In the event that you fail to do this, a minimum service charge of £50 will be invoiced to you. Expenses, such as parking or the congestion charge may also be included on your invoice.
Account Terms
Payment is due on completion of work unless otherwise stated.
Overdue Account
Overdue accounts and late payers shall be liable to late payment charges at 10% over bank based rate per month and an administration charge of £65.00 per week until the date of payment.
Legal / collection expenses
"General is Handyman" shall be entitled to employ the services of solicitors and/or collection agencies and shall be entitled to charge and recover from the customer all reasonable expenses incurred obtaining settlement of the debt should after 7 days from date of invoice payment has not being received.
Fixed Price Quotations
A fixed price quotation shall be in writing.
Daily Rates
Our daily rates are for seven hours. Unless a fixed price quotation has been agreed prior to the work taking place, General is Handyman will apply the daily rate and/or hourly rate, plus materials and expenses.
Making a Complaint
If you believe that our work is faulty telephone us immediately stating the invoice number, the invoice date and the reason for your complaint.
If you are not sure whether the fault is connected to our work it is probably wise to call us on the basis that even if unconnected with our work it is obviously something that needs to be dealt with.
Guarantee
Our engineer or feedback team is more than happy to discuss any problems and rectify them immediately.
